:"Boyd Baker House in Bacchus Marsh, Victoria was the perfect backdrop for our relaxed wedding full of family and friends, set in the Aussie bush. Highly recommended, and with the added bonus of having accommodation attached."

We had the most amazing time, our guests had the most amazing time – Peter and I really felt like we got to enjoy the house on every level as a venue and as a vacation property – I would highly recommend the additional night to anyone so they get to enjoy it all alone. Thank you so much, there is talk of making it a yearly destination.

Kind regards, Kylie Baker-Martin

Just a note to thank you so much once again for the use of the Boyd Baker House for our wedding.  We had such a wonderful day and were so lucky with the weather as it was 30 degrees well into the night.  I have attached the link to our official photos.  We would have no problem with you using them, if you found them suitable, just let us know.  Not sure what the deal would be with our photographer.  I have put his details below if you want to check.

Using the Boyd Baker House meant that we could have our wedding our way, without breaking the bank, especially as I had been out of work, since looking after my terminally ill mother.  You can see how we laid out the house from some of the photos.  We used Mary's recommendation for the hire company, Jimmy Watson's in Balwyn for the alcohol (free glasses & buy back), and Hudson's Famous for the catering, who I would recommend very highly both on quality and cost.

I made all the tablecloths, napkins and origami placesettings.  Table decorations came from Spotlight and our garden.  My flower and the bridesmaides' - King Protias - came from the Camberwell Market.  We also purchased 10 metres of black hession which we used as an "aisle", which was very effective.  My dress was made in London, and I wore earrings made by my Mum and my Grandmother's broach at the waist.

We would have no hesitation in recommending the Boyd Baker House as a wedding venue or place to stay for families and groups.  All our guests were impressed with it, and those who stayed from overseas felt that they had a unique "Australian" experience.  We felt that the biggest factor in making our use of the house so relaxing and trouble free was the way that you all trusted us with your property and were so open, enthusiastic and helpful.  It is a very rare quality that we appreciated and respected.

Kind Regards and all the best for the future of the BBH complex, Suzie Paddock & Mike Chandler

Just wanted to let you know Matt and I had a wonderful week-end and an amazing wedding at the Boyd house.  We could not have imagined a more perfect way to celebrate.  Everything went smoothly, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Paula was also very helpful and so easy-going, so please pass on our thanks to her too. Thank-you for all the efforts you have put into making the place such an experience that we will never forget. We hope to be back at the house again some day.  Thanks again.

Last Saturday [9-2-2008] we had the privilege and honour to be part of the wedding and reception @ your Boyd Baker House. Words cannot express the joy and happiness we feel. To be able to share this amazing property  with 12 Dutch family and friends [who specially made the long journey just for this occasion] and other Aussie family and friends[one of whom is an Architect-Donald Walker-who was for once lost for words] we couldn't have had a more perfect venue. And the team from Ed Dixon were faultless-even when rain threatened to end our dinner outdoors!!!

I will forward the email we sent Ed. Thankyou so much for enabling us to share your great property-for a short time we felt it was "our" home & to be able share it & put Australian architecture/Australian bush on display for our overseas guests [with good old Melbourne weather thrown in] was so special. It was comfortably sunny for the outdoor ceremony / photo shoots then after beginning the reception outdoors we continued on indoors and  into the wee hours dancing in the courtyard. Followed up the next morning with a brunch. Again we know we couldn't have had a more perfect venue or day or catering team. Thankyou, we hope to return to celebrate many anniversaries of the happy couple, Kate and Berry.
Yours in gratitude Gloria and Robert Joyce

The Boyd Dower House, So close yet so far.  An easy half hour drive from Melbourne, built right in the middle of Long Forest Nature Conservation Reserve.  Architecturally stunning, fabulous quirky decor an open fire. A peaceful and isolated romantic retreat.  This last week has been the best and most relaxing weeks holiday my husband and I have ever had. Thank you to all.
Regards Llianne and John Deinema
